Full-time Protection
FIR is a universal solution with a wide range of practical applications. Due to its size (300 cm x 300 cm), it is perfect as a roof over a hammock to give you full protection when it’s raining. On the ground, it can be used as a very large shelter for one person. Because in such situations space means more than just comfort. You can, for example, cook while waiting for the rain to stop. In emergency situations, the tarp can shelter up to three people.
FIR is made of sun-resistant ripstop nylon fabric, with both sides covered with silicone. This results in a high water resistance (2000 mm H2O). To make camping on challenging terrain easier, we have ensured its high durability. We spent time carefully working on those areas which typically see high wear. The fastenings for the guylines were reinforced, and we secured the main seam with a strap featuring additional fastening points.
For FIR we also decided to round the edges of the material, thanks to which it further reduced its weight. Such a design makes it much easier to tension the fabric while assembling the tarp system. The system also includes guylines and a stuffsack.
