A new project to be launched soon: “Volunteering for Healthy Landscapes”, carried out by an NGO, Hnuti DUHA. Over a 14 week period, volunteers will plant 200,000 trees, restore several meadows and maintain peat bogs as well as other valuable habitats and ecosystems. Each event will take place in a previously chosen location in the Czech Republic where a certain danger exists, such as a forest invaded by the European spruce bark beetle, protected areas where wildlife is in endangered or agricultural landscapes where the loss of biodiversity is a threat.

“This project perfectly matches our new strategy which supports projects that fight climate changes, as well as our new goal – protection against the loss of biodiversity. We are extremely excited to see the successful start of fundraising thanks to financial support from Cumulus. All the donations sent via our website this year will help us gather further means, allowing us to continue this important task.”

Tanya Bascombe, Joint General Manager at EOCA

We support this project as part of the 1% for the Planet initiative. We are happy to have secured this first, welcome batch of funds needed to launch the project. We also wish to focus our successive activities on the protection of wild landscapes in Central and Eastern Europe, about which we will tell more really soon!
