In 2019, we joined 1% for the Planet initiative and 1% of sales from all our products goes back to support organizations working for environmental protection. For several years now, we have been supporting the Wetlands Conservation Centre in their efforts to protect wetland areas and raise awareness about the role these ecosystems play in mitigating the effects of climate change.
Thanks to our support, we can officially announce that the Wetlands Conservation Centre is now the owner of plots in the Rospuda Valley and at the Wolf Swamp located in the buffer zone of the Biebrza National Park!
Decades ago, this peat bog was drained and transformed into meadows and pastures. In recent years, due to the activity of beavers, the once-degraded peat bog is naturally rewatering and rejuvenating. As the current landowners aren't utilizing the areas for agriculture, these plots are now cloaked in alder forest, willow thickets, and reed beds. Why does this area have such great potential?
